Kerrie Bolton

Dip. Adv. Myotherapy (Melb.), Book Author on TMJ and Headaches

Kerrie has been an innovative leader in the Myotherapy profession since graduating in 1994 from RMIT University, Melbourne.

Kerrie commenced private practice in 1994 as a consulting Myotherapist and quickly developed an interest in skeletal muscle pain patterns and motor function associated with jaw and headache disorders. Experienced in the management of both acute and chronic conditions, Kerrie pioneered Myotherapy treatment approaches to address orofacial muscle pain associated with Temporomandibular disorders (TMD).

Maintaining her association with RMIT, Kerrie was invited to join the teaching staff as both a Tutor and Clinic Supervisor. Kerrie contributed to the syllabus development of RMIT’s Advanced Diploma of Applied Science (Myotherapy). During that time Kerrie held the position of Industry Representative on RMIT’s Course Advisory Committee for two terms.

An experienced public speaker, Kerrie also enjoyed co-presenting at The Melbourne Spinal and Sports Medicine Clinic’s Headache, TMJ and Bruxism seminar series to both Myotherapy and Physiotherapy practitioners. Kerrie was also appointed as a Tutor to the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Dry Needling Seminar Series with key speakers, Dr. Peter Selvaratnam and Dr. Peter Brukner.

Co-Authoring with Dr. Peter Selvaratnam a chapter for the textbook Headache, Orofacial Pain and Bruxism gave Kerrie the opportunity to further develop her understanding of TMD and Headache conditions.

An extended break to focus on family allowed Kerrie to raise two fabulous children who are now enjoying teenage life.

An experienced and skilled Myotherapist, Kerrie believes in treating the person, not the condition and is happy to work as a primary practitioner or within a multi-disciplinary team.

Outside the clinic Kerrie loves spending time with husband and children, cooking, gardening and walking with friends.
